  1. Hi Ana,

I think I actually responded to your discussion question as well....I am interested in your plan. I will be anxious to see the findings. I am in Special Education, and have always been concerned that our homebound students keep up. You had a lot of good steps and details in your plan. I appreciated the way you spelled out your plan so thoroughly. Good luck---be sure and put your research information on your blod. I'd like to see what you learn, and what ends up being implemented. Thank you

  2. Ana, this is an interesting topic that I have not thought of. After reading over your research topic I feel that there are some gaps in the transition as well as social issues with students that enter or return to school from a home bound situation. With your study being over 3 returning students you will get a general idea of the gaps and what needs to be done. However, there could be some discrepencey from in what you will find between different racial and socieoeconomic backgrounds. The 3 students research will reflect in general which I believe will shed some light on a proper course of action to help these students adapt back into a public school setting.

  3. I am a special education teacher and the teacher of record for two homebound students. I will find your research interesting because once these students return to school I wonder will there be a gap in their learning. I also wonder how they will fit back into the routine of being in a classroom with all of the distractions that occur in the classroom setting. I like the way that you have laid out all of your steps so throughly. It makes me want to redo mine and put more details in it but I will wait and see what feedback I get.

  4. You were wonderfully thorough in your action plan, this looks fantastic, I think it will really help bridge the gap between homebound programs and campus based classes. I am thankful you took into consideration the thoughts of the students in your follow-up, many people forget the emotional aspect of that kind of transition and how it makes such an impact on the childs learning and adjustments. Nice work, looking forward to your Disscussion Post for week 4!

  5. This is a great topic. I can't wait to see your results. I have taught homebound students in the past and this year I am going to have two homebound students. I have always worried about how the students were going to adjust when they returned to the classroom. I think all the qualitative data you are collecting is a great way to assess the transition process. Good luck with your research!
